Common signs of a diverter valve fault

The most recognisable sign is hot water that works normally while the radiators stay cold, even though the room thermostat is calling for heat. In some cases, the opposite happens: the radiators become warm when you run a hot tap because the valve is allowing heated water into the heating circuit.
